World Community Grid

I like helping humanity. I do it all the time. Okay, maybe not. I mean, volunteering for an entire [insert some timeframe here]? Curing cancer (or whatever cause you support) is important and all, but I (and in all likelihood, you too) just don’t have the time (or motivation) for it. So what if you could help humanity without lifting a finger? You’d feel great about doing your part in this world and you wouldn’t have to expend all your precious time and energy. Not possible you say? I present to you the World Community Grid.

World Community Grid is a distributed computing project created by IBM which allows scientists from across the world to use the immense computational power of millions of computers to do scientific research. There’s tons of projects, ranging from AIDS research to solar cell research. After downloading and installing the client, you can pick which projects you want to contribute your computer’s unused computing power towards. Then all you have to do is sit back and relax. You just contributed positively to humanity with minimal effort.

So what are you waiting for? You’ve got nothing to lose and the world has everything to gain. This is your chance to help the world immensely with minimal effort; don’t miss out.
